Candied Jalapeño Grilled Cheese Recipe
Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 15 minutes Servings: 2 sandwiches
Ingredients:
4 slices of your favorite bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
4 ounces (about 1 cup) shredded cheddar cheese
4 tablespoons candied jalapeños, chopped (adjust to your desired level of spiciness)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prep the Bread:
Lay out the four slices of bread and spread a thin layer of softened unsalted butter on one side of each slice. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder on the buttered side for extra flavor.
2. Layer the Fillings:
Place half of the shredded cheddar cheese on two of the bread slices, buttered side down.
Sprinkle the chopped candied jalapeños evenly over the cheese.
Add the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top of the candied jalapeños.
Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side up, to create sandwiches.
3. Grill the Sandwiches:
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
Carefully transfer the sandwiches to the heated skillet or griddle. Grill them for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted to your desired level of gooeyness.
4. Slice and Serve:
Remove the Candied Jalapeño Grilled Cheese sandwiches from the skillet or griddle and let them cool for a minute or two.
Slice the sandwiches diagonally or in half, depending on your preference.

Serve your delectable Candied Jalapeño Grilled Cheese sandwiches while they're hot and enjoy the delightful combination of sweet, spicy, and cheesy flavors!
